Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

TO HELL WITH KOEI GAMES, just kidding, Skyrim first guys, Skyrim first.

The Hype

Well, got to hand it  to Bethesda to make one hell of a trailer. I mean, what's wrong with it, the concept was so cool that it was definitely inducing if not hypnotizing. Music was Hans Zimmer-like, nah nothing is as good as Hans, but the music was close to it. The concept of dragons, DRAGONS, I mean DRAGONS!!!!!!! And you get to what?????Kill them and take their souls, that's right, at least that was the hype about it.

The Story

Story.......story......story. In Skyrim, there are such things called storyline, one storyline is the civil war. That's right, besides dragons there are also several wars going on, like the war of the Stormcloaks and the Imperial Legion. The Thalmor war against all Talos worshipers, thee Forsworn armies and more. The game of Skyrim lets you  play in the ranks of the armored empire, or the rebellious nords, your choice. They go in an all-out no-mercy blood-sucking man-slaughtering war, taking forts, running over castles all the way to intercepting a message. And that's just a side story.

The real story you ask?? Is you being the Dragonborn, or in an even cooler version, in the Dragon's language, you are Dovakin. You are tasked to stop this force named Alduin and bring peace to the land of Skyrim once again. I'll stop right there......

The Gameplay

Trust me, in Skyrim you'll be, Addicted then still addicted for about a whole month, then playing it normally, then bored, then you realize you're addicted again.

Dragons, got lower grades because of them, Google

It's like GTA meets Lord of the Rings, or an open world version of Monster Hunter. You can pick from being a thief elf, to becoming a water-breathing reptile, or even a scary-looking black-smithing orc. Some fight bugs here and there, but it does not really affect your gameplay. You can also choose to travel, either fast traveling, walking or swimming, riding a horse, or riding Shadowmere, cool stuff. Everything you do will have a countering effect. For instance, screw Faendal, he tries to get you, Screw Sven, he tries to get you, screw a Jarl, the guards screw you, and the most outrageous one, kill a chicken, everyone tries to get you.

You can do absolutely any single thing you want, buy a house, jump a water fall, be a one-man army and rip every single guard's knee and shove it to their faces. The best part, for me, is killing a Dragon, that or watch a sabre cat get pummeled into the air by a giant. But, seriously, killing your first five dragons is a great pleasure, and also seeing their very soul getting transferred to your body. Also, doing war quests comes into mind when talking about enjoyable things to do, from ambushing to a fort takeover, it's just plain cool.

Tulius and stuff, Google

You can also join some organizations or groups, some are the Dark Brotherhood, and the Companions. They can provide you vigorous quests which you might find quite enjoyable. Join the Companions if you want a special blood bond (you'll see) or join the Dark Brotherhood if you're more of the silent assassin. My personal favorite is the Thieves' Guild, stealing with pride and integrity, good stuff.

While you and your Companions were all camping in the canyon, went a campaign to your house and showed your queen my plasma cannon,Nicepeter, Google

Final Score: 9.6

Personal point of view *contains spoilers*

Honestly, I have not finished the game yet, still there at the part where you get Dragonrend, I know I'm slow, but level 26 here for you. I'm really fond of those daedra based quests, like the Mind of Madness, ore the House of Horrors. I'm strong enough to kill a Blood Dragon all alone. The cool thing about this game is that you can go about it in different ways. You can even go at your own pace. Use exploits like making Iron Daggers all day, or the Faendal attack.

I'm a Wood Elf, with heavy armor, Glass Warhammer, good at sneaking and archery, and I still have Sven with me. You can see the mainstreamness coming out of it *sarcasm intended*. Life in Whiterun is pretty nice, breezing out in the home given to me.

Well the game could use some interactive cinematic scenes once in a while to add more epicness. Also the conversation is so repetitive with people, most especially with the guards. First it was curved swords, now it's...........I use to make arrow to the knee jokes, but then I took a sword to the chest. I used to make sword to the chest jokes, but then I took a mace to the face. I used to make mace to the face jokes, but then I took a stone to the bone. I used to make stone to the bone jokes, but then I took a steel to the heel. I used to make steel to the heel jokes, but then I took a rock to the cock, and so on.

First of all, I shall blog about famous Koei games. They are well known for their war type video games. Some of their notable video games are, Samurai Warriors, Dynasty Warriors, Warriors Orochi, Nobunaga's Ambition, and Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War. One of my personal favorite is Warriors Orochi 2.
